Kid Decor Love
I'm totally smitten with this photo! Love the numbers, the shelves, the rug, and the way everything is displayed.
Sweetness and Delight
Mourning the loss of Paul Newman this weekend, we rented Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and reveled in the sweet, quirky brilliance of his performance. Every scene is a delight, but this one is just beyond. Enjoy.

Swiss Family Robinson, Eat Your Hearts Out
I am spinning over this incredible photo collection of the most amazing treehouses in the world. Feast your eyes:

Anne's Makeover
The most cherished book of my childhood has gotten a design update in a new edition being released by Puffin Classics. I'm still trying to adjust to the new look, and I'm not sure how I feel about it. Are there any other Anne-With-an-E devotees out there reading this, and if you are one, what do you think of the new version?
Sunday Miscellany
I snapped up these three colorful silk pillow covers at a street fair today for just five bucks apiece and I couldn't resist taking a photo (shopper's high!). The big pillow covers with dots are from a recent Ikea run...
The orchid that I bought a year and a half ago (the blossoms of which had long since been gone, leading me to entirely write it off as a goner) suddenly burst into bloom on our windowsill last week...
The Kiddo was recently caught modeling T's fancy new straw hat, to rakish effect...

Respects
I am so saddened to hear about the loss of Paul Newman. I have always loved his work and been so moved by his life and contributions to the world. My heart goes out to his family, particularly Joanne Woodward. Their romance has always touched and inspired me so much.

All photos, except for the second one, are from here.

Costume Inspiration
Tonight I was casting about the internet looking for a little homemade-Halloween-costume inspiration, when I decided to see if Martha Stewart had any insights on the issue. Well, indeed she does. Her site offers an fabulous array of photos and ideas for easy DIY costumes. Many of them are even no-sew! I love the simplicity and creativity of the ideas, not to mention that the cute-factor is just off the charts. I just have to share some of my favorites...

Follow Marvelous Kiddo!
The Human Pacifier just tipped me off to a fun little Blogger sidebar-add-on, the "Followers" tool. If you read Marvelous Kiddo often why not add yourself as a Follower by clicking "Follow This Blog" on the sidebar at right? You'll be automatically notified whenever I update! Woot!

Who Does She Think She Is?
Yesterday, T and I left the Kiddo with his grandmother and we went to see an afternoon movie. We chose Vicky Christina Barcelona, which was really fun and wonderful, but it was this film trailer that riveted me. Who Does She Think She Is? looks like an excellent and compelling examination of what it means to be a female artist struggling to balance the demands of motherhood and creativity.
Considering the fact that I will have moved out of my studio by the end of the month, I can't wait to see this movie.

Night Night
Merely moments ago, I was changing the Kiddo's diaper before bed as he vigorously brushed his teeth (his new favorite activity -- go figure!). T was also sitting on the bed, and we were talking about our day. Finishing the diaper change, I turned to throw the dirty one away in our bathroom and wash my hands. When I turned back around, this is what I saw:

Yes, dear readers, the Kiddo konked out in mid-brush.

Making Inspiration
Watch these two videos. When we did, I cried and the Kiddo danced and clapped. Thanks, Hula Seventy.
Catching My Eye...
A few things that I'm digging on the World Wide Web today:- Fun photos (including the one above) of Sunday's Jazz Age Lawn Party, taken by my friend Joanna
- Steph's beautiful new baby girl, Ivy LaRue, born early Monday morning at home. (I'm seriously impressed by Mama Steph's ability to Twitter updates throughout her labor!)
- This fabulous tutorial on Through-The Viewfinder photography.
- A street-fashion-lover's heaven!
- Thandie Newton's latest thoughts on homebirth, "Birth is very challenging in the best way possible. Every fibre of your being is alive. It’s like you are conducting electricity; literally creating something. I’d like to give birth every year if I could, just for that experience.” Found here.

Celebrity Babywearer of the Day
Nicole! Despite the fact that this carry looks uncomfortably low, I must say I'm impressed to see her rocking a sling. Seen on Jezebel.
