Bumpalicious

I'm loving the pregnancy flair of so many of my favorite bloggers right now! They're making me crave having my own bun in the oven -- eeps!

Photos, from top-bottom: Celia of Hank and Lucy, Stacy of Heart + Sew, Aura of Aura Joon, Melissa of Dear Baby, Ashley of Hither and Thither, Jamie of Hank and Lucy, Carolee Beckham of Carolee Beckham: The Blog, Jodi of Ché and Fidel.

Congratulations, all you lovely mamas!

Blog Love: Amateur Couture

A couple of days ago, one of my favorite blogs tipped me off about another blog called Amateur Couture. I am not overstating things to say I am now OBSESSED. The brilliant M. Fay matches art with fashion that seems to have been directly inspired by it. It is crazy amazing and addictively good. Mayjah eye-candy. Like woah.

Wonderful Clara

I am in awe of the fashion stylings of mama-to-be, Clara Lidström, of the delightful and inspiring Swedish blog, Underbara Clara (which translates to Wonderful Clara in English). It has been fun to watch her bump grow as the seasons change around her, ever since Joanna tipped me off back in October. You just have to check out Clara's blog to see all of her darling ensembles for yourself ;)

PS: That reminds me...speaking of pregnant belly loveliness, I wanted to let you know that Samantha Hahn's Full Bloom print that I blogged about last month is now available for sale! I have one and it is now officially one of my favorite things.

Blog Crushing

I just discovered this one a few days ago, folks, but already it has gone onto my list of all-time faves. A great source of inspiration for anyone who loves fashion, design, decor, and lifestyle eyecandy. And the DIY's are sooo killer. Love!

Blog Crushing

I love this photo, and the accompanying post, by Mia Linnman of the always-amazing Solid Frog. Totally gets me in the mood to decorate and festoon and bake and make and shop and wrap. Mmmmmm, so good.

Blog Crushing

I subscribe to about 250 blogs in my reader, and the line-up is constantly in flux. I'm always adding a few, deleting a few, trying to keep things fresh. If I had to pick a favorite one right now, I think it would be this one. It's quiet...yet it says so much. It's to-the-point...and yet the posts keep me coming back to look (and think) again and again. Lately, it has just been so goshdarned good.

Blog Crushing

Sometimes I encounter a blog that is so simple and original and evocative that I just get sucked right into it and after a few visits it starts to bend my perceptions of the world around me. Via Liivia is one of those blogs. I cannot read a word on it (the posts are in Finnish) but the photos alone are very powerful -- beautifully distilled moments arranged as they are like so much visual haiku. As a result of visiting this blog, I actually find myself more keenly aware, in my everyday life, of a certain cast shadow or the precise color radiating from a patch of sunlight or the exact softness of a favorite sweater.

You have to go.

Guest Post: Jodi from Ché and Fidel on Australian Blog Love

Photobucket
While we may be half a world away, there are a few Australian bloggers who are not unlike the lovely Leigh in her beloved NY. I've been surprised at the community created by blogging, the opportunity to connect and chat. To comfort and encourage.

These Australian writers are on my list of daily visits. Go visit and say hi

Rummey Bears
Anna and I first met when she attended one of my birth workshops. She's an absolute delight and the tales of her little family are inspiring. Rosie bear is one of those babies that you just want to squeeze.

PottyMouthMama
Lexi is quick witted and laugh-out-loud hilarious. She's good with words too - poetic, even.

Giggles Down Under
Kristi moved form Maui to Melbourne. Her photos and observations are beyond beautiful.

Ecomilf
Meagan is a yogini and muma on a mission to make the world a greener place. Her blog is a complete inspiration and she's always posting great ideas for making your own household cleaners, birthday gifts and yummy vegetarian meals.

P.S. (From Leigh): Jodi lives on the East Coast of Australia with her darling family. Her blog, Ché and Fidel, has a poetic, philosophical bent that always gives me something to think about. She also teaches pre-natal yoga and birth preparation classes, guiding women through blissful pregnancy and preparing them for a conscious birth experience.

tous les jours dimanche

Today I discovered a truly wonderful blog, tous les jours dimanche. It details the adventures of the most gorgeous family living in a country house in France. The photos could not be more enchanting, and I'm sure if I was capable of reading French I would be devouring the lengthy posts about their lives! Doesn't the charm, magic, and beauty just leap off the screen? Get lost in the archives, here.

Blog Crushes

*Isn't "A Wild and Precious Life" the best name for a blog? It was inspired by a line from the Mary Oliver poem "The Summer Day". Also, that really is a photo of baby hedgehogs nursing!!!
