Ebay Excitement

I just won this antique sewing machine on Ebay! It dates to 1872! I only want it for the table/cover. I will be detaching the original machine and replacing it with my new Janome, which I started using for the first time yesterday. I actually sewed another dress from the same pattern I used last time, but with different fabric...I'll have to post a couple of pictures as soon as I've finished hemming it and making the buttonholes!

Morning Fashion Muse

Lately, I've been enjoying the blog Sally Jane Vintage.  The author has a fondness for vintage clothing, thrift shopping, and bargain-hunting and she routinely posts the most adorable outfits -- impeccably styled, modeled and photographed.  Better yet, she has an Ebay store, so many of the pieces she shows on her blog end up for sale only days later!  I just love the vintage high-waisted jeans and suspenders she's rocking on today's entry.

Sister In the City

Yesterday I decided to start selling some of my stuff on Ebay. I enlisted Erin as my model and the Kiddo as my styling assistant. And by "styling assistant" I mean he expertly rummaged through my closet and busied himself with organizing my shoes. And by "organizing" I mean he chewed all the high heels into oblivion.

The first item that we decided to list is a vintage red knee-length silk skirt. I thought it would be fun (and perhaps a good selling technique) to style an outfit around the skirt and photograph the gorgeous Erin in a picturesque setting. Well, we had so much fun! And it turns out that I love the pictures in their own right...

Ebay Find of the Day

The winning bidder won't get Tim Gunn for keeps, but they will get to have a lovely lunch with him at the Bryant Park Grill in NYC! Bid here.

Ebay Find of the Day

I'm loving this vintage 40's dress currently listed on ebay. Not only is it a great style with amazing details, but with that zipper front it's so perfectly breastfeeding-friendly!
