Whimsical Hipster Idea of the Day

I usually don't get into coloring books, but this one is so original and funny that I might just have to spring for it. Note the fan in the image below waving a sign that says "have my babies Karen O." $9.95 (free shipping, and royalties go to charity!) on Delight.com.

Treehouse Beds

Now, how much fun is that furniture concept! J'adore. Via the wonderful and new-to-me blog, Lullaby and Goodnight.

Camp Our Time Highlights

Taro has been away all week, running Camp Our Time, an extension of Our Time Theatre Company.

Our Time is an acclaimed non-profit organization that has been improving the lives of kids who stutter since 2001. This camp is uniquely tailored for kids who stutter, as well as their young family members and friends, ages 8-18. Through the performing arts and traditional camp activities, Camp Our Time helps kids who stutter develop priceless self-esteem, and facilitates increased understanding about stuttering among their peers.

Although the arts are integral to Camp Our Time, no performance experience is required to enroll and no auditions are held. Campers leave with valuable friendships, life-long memories, and a strong dose of encouragement to not let their speech disorders limit their life experiences or quell their dreams.

The following photos, taken by the Camp Our Time Staff, are some of my favorites from the week so far. See many many more and find more information about Our Time on the camp blog.

The Sart's Kids

I'm dying over these recent shots taken by Scott Schuman of his kids and their friends.  Pint-sized style geniuses, they are!  And I adore the tomboy, unisex fashion aesthetic on little girls, which is shown to great effect in these photos.

Beautiful Bellies

The SFGate recently held a photography competition called Beautiful Pregnant Bellies and this photo won the grand prize.  Isn't it positively da bomb?  See more of the wonderful entries, here.  Thank you for the tip, Joanna!

Stitchy Stitchy Yay!

I've been away from the blog today, as my creative impulses were directed elsewhere -- namely towards the continued pursuit of learning how to sew!  I took another class at Make this afternoon, the first in a two-part workshop that will result in the creation of a little garment that looks something like this
I had oodles of fun!  So much fun, in fact, that I ran home and ordered this
There's no turning back or chickening out or procrastinating now!  I'm on my way to setting up a home sewing nook...

Yum

So, my sister shows up and thinks it's ok to feed me her magical fresh baked Oatmeal Cranberry Toffee cookies.
But I was trying to avoid birthing a 15 pound baby!
Help!
