Partied Out

This is where my men are right now.  Snoozing away, snuggled blissfully in each other's presence after several hard weeks of not enough time together while the Papa worked overtime getting ready for the gala.

Yesterday was amazing -- the culmination of all that hard work -- and totally worth it.  I have stories for days, and hopefully soon I'll have a bunch of photos to share.  The evening was totally inspiring and entertaining and fun, and we had a packed house for the show and dinner.  I was so busy having a good time that I totally neglected to take any photos!  But the place was swarming with cameras (the press totally turned out for the event) so in a way it was probably better to just enjoy the fun and trust that everything was being documented quite thoroughly.  As soon as I see pics I'll be sure to post :)

Thank you to all the well-wishes from those of you who read about the gala on the blog but were unable to attend.  It warms my heart to feel the love and support of my blog friends from near and far.  Ya'll are too sweet.

Meanwhile, I hope you're all having a wonderful beginning of the week, and I look forward to getting back to regular posting soon.  XOXO.

Congratulations to Schoffield, winner of the Beauty in Imperfection ring by Barbara Polinsky!

It was so exciting to see the enormously positive response to this giveaway, and I really appreciate everyone who entered and helped to spread the word!  The following note is from Barbara to all those who participated:
Thanks so much for your Sweet Tweets, blog posts and compliments. It's so gratifying to me as an artist to hear what you have to say and I'm pleased that the message behind it resonates with you. This ring is part of a growing collection called Beauty in Imperfection which is currently available at Wink San Francisco and through my me. Still very much a new product, I believe that the message is powerful and appealing. I welcome any thoughts or ideas you may have as to how to get it out there.
Congratulations to the winner! If you were not the lucky one this time please keep reading Marvelous Kiddo for delicious slices of design, parenting insight and just plain good stuff. I have a feeling there will be more jewelry giveaways in the future......stay tuned.
Fondly,
Barbara

Outfit Update: Shoes & Shadow

The highest shoes I've ever worn, from Topshop (wish me luck that I don't break my neck!) and eyeshadows from MAC.

Stay tuned to find out what I'm wearing between my head and my toes on Monday night.

Whatcha Got Cookin' This Weekend?

I will be scrambling to do some last-minute shopping to pull together my look for the Our Time Gala, which is Monday night.  The attire is "festive," a term that gives me some flexibility of interpretation.  And it's a good thing too, since I'm also working with styling myself with the ever-bigger bump and boobs in mind.  Ah, pregnancy!  T's mom is arriving in town this afternoon, so hopefully her wonderful presence and babysitting skilz will free me up a bit to run some fashion-errands.  (I'm thinking a pair of shoes from the just-opened New York Topshop, for sure!)  I'll be sure to post an outfit update as the story unfolds...

Meanwhile, here are some of my favorite links of the past week:

Bloom du Jour

So pretty I had to repost!  Via Decor8.

Weather Wonderful

OK, this is definitely the coolest thing I've seen involving a weather forecast in my entire life. Go here, select a city (most major international cities are represented) and you will see the current weather forecast for that place accompanied by a positively smile-inducing, little handmade image that depicts that forecast!  I'm not sure why I love this so much, but there's something so simple and lo-fi about it, yet it's giving you the actual, real-time forecast for your city.  The juxtaposition of technology with something beautiful and handmade is really fun.  Enjoy.  And let me know what you think!
