My imagination was totally sparked this morning when I saw this home featured in the paper. The owner has three children and she wanted to make the decor something that her kids could not only live with but have fun in and help decorate. I love that she handed so much of the design creativity over to the kids and yet maintained a really beautiful home. Of course, the gorgeous bones of the house don't hurt -- wouldn't we all love bajillion-foot-high ceilings, crown moulding, and original wood floors! But there really is something so magical about the kind of artfully wacky casualness of the decor. I think the sofa idea (graffiti-ed on plain muslin upholstery by her children and their friends) is genius. What a fun place to grow up!
