Fun at the Flea

On Sunday, we took a much-needed break from the grind of last minute gala preparations and decided to head out to Fort Greene Brooklyn for the inaugural day of the Brooklyn Flea. I had been hearing a ton of buzz about this new event, and fleamarket fanatic that I am, I didn't want to miss it!

We ended up getting there really late, and the weather was unseasonably cold and gray, but it was still fun to peruse the well-curated-for-a-fleamarket stalls. Almost immediately upon our arrival we stumbled upon old friends Michelle and Nathan, who drove all the way from Boston to sell their fantastic line of couture baby items, Hoosier Magnolia. It was fun to catch up with those two for a while, before wandering over to the Wafels & Dinges stand for a delicious (and thankfully warm) snack.

We took in more of the sights and were on our way out of the market when we stumbled upon a sign advertising a free photobooth...well, who can resist a free photobooth!?! I certainly can't. Turns out, local photographer Riely Clough was kind, creative, and entrepreneurial enough to set up the booth and document willing marketgoers. After a brief photo shoot, Riely took our contact information and the next day she emailed us a link to look at the pictures online. Prices for her prints are extremely affordable, so we plan to order a few of our favorites soon.
